HOW TO TRANSCODE STREAMING FILES??

Try using Flashget to download the file on your computer. Then convert the file. (but first take care of the copyright and check if doing so is legal).

For instance: mms://wmp.zonepro.com/swarovski/swarovski_061004_18h.wmv

type this in, or replace the mms: with http:, I still get "this URL is unlikely to point to streaming media".

Very strange!

Converting from rm to mp3

Yes you can.

- Make sure to have the proper extension (ex: .ram instead of .rm if this is an audio file) - proceed like any other file, - if it fails, try to increase the bit rate until it works

For the moment, the resulting .mp3 file is twice bigger than the original .ram file. But I'm a beginner in using MediaCoder.

Please, Can I convert rm files to mp3 files with this software?

Thanks in advance

What Full Edition is suposed to do in addition to Audio Edition?

A place to post presets...

Hi, wouldn't it make sense for people to post (perhaps to this wiki) presets they have found useful? I am having trouble converting vids to something Windows Movie Maker can import, so I can edit MOV files...

404 message instead of "Start MediaCoder" page

I just installed MediaCoder on a WinMe system, and when launching the program for the first time, it opens up a webpage, but instead of loading the "Start MediaCoder" page, it gives me a 404 message. What can I do to fix this? Please let me know at: noam zero nine at gmail dawt com.

MediaCoder on Linux under Wine (Win-Emulator)

I installed MediaCoder on Linux with the help of Wine (Fedora Core 6). The installer runs fine and
the launcher is created properly on my desktop. When I try to run it, the browser opens up but I
see nothing else. Is Wine a supported platform? If it's not, it must not be really difficult to port.
I have already seen "complex" Windows software running on Wine successfully (IE6, Google Earth,
Mysql Yog, MS Word, ...) and in some cases, they run even better than on native Windows :))).

MediaCoder error messages

I get the error message: "There is no disk in the drive .Please insert a disk into drive E:."

and then nothing happens (except the opening of the mediacoder webpage/dloadpage in the browser)

(deleted my previous question because of it's obvious inane-ness ;) 213.172.204.59 05:30, 17 February 2007 (PST)

I get the same message (except the exact message is - "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk1\DR2." The dialogue box has "Cancel" Try Again" & "Continue" two clicks are needed to close it. After that the website opens, I click the Start button and everything is fine. Anyone got any ideas how o stop it? (No clues in INI files or the registry.) Randomman42

What does no file in output mean?

I added a file to the program and then press start and a window pops up and says No File in Output. I tried to change it to a new folder called temp under local disk(c:) but it doesnt work.

FLAC to MP3

With MediaCoder I converted APE files tot MP3: great! How can I convert FLAC to MP3? Thnx!

Can multiple versions be installed on the same machine?

The stable version is great, and at least ten times quicker than the development version, but I'd like to have the latest version available to test and help with feedback. Can I have both?

Can someone expand this:

MediaCoder doesn't work at all for me MediaCoder does work for many people but maybe it is not working

I have no doubt that this is factualy true but it's not very helpfull.
