MediaCoder Subtitling Guide

In this guide, the configuration of the subtitles in output video files will be introduced. It will enable some softwares or appliances, which are not capable of subtitle displaying, to show the subtitles when you are playing video files.

PS: The following cases are the outputing results with default settings and the very mentioned parameter.

Basic Configurations

Click ... in the bottom right corner to select the target subtitle files. After selected, this subtitle will be shown during the playing of video file in MediaCoder.


  • If your subtitle is in English, select en in Language. Select the right language for your subtitles, if any.


  • Select suitable PageCode in Code. Or MediaCoder will set it same as your system's code. Codes List


  • Select your prefered font in Font. The fonts listed here are same as your system's font list.


  • In Position, you are able to set the bottom position of your subtitles. Left means 0, that you will disable this function and put your subtitles on the bottom. If you want to set its position, you can select from 1 to 100: 1 means top; 100 means bottom.

  • Outline is the outline thickness of your subtitles.

  • Blur is the blur of subtitle outline.

  • In Scale, there are options as No Autoscale, Movie Height, Movie Width, Movie Diagnoal.

  • Subtitle LanguageSubtitle CodepageSubtitle Font FileSubtitle PositionAutoscale ModeSet Blur RadiusSet Font Outline Thickness have been explained above.


  • Subtitle Delay is what it is called with second as its unit. (Decimal fraction is also available.)


  • Subtitle Background Alpha is what it is called: 0 is fully clarity; 255 is fully unclarity.

  • Subtitle Background Color is what it is called. (0 is recommended.)
